THREE-TIME HOMOWO CHAMPION, NANA YAW BOATENG, ANNOUNCES SECOND EDITION OF MASHIANO TOP 8

Ghana’s table tennis icon, Nana Yaw Boateng, alongside the Wenty White Table Tennis Club and Ping-pong HQ, is set to host the highly anticipated second edition of the Mashiano Top 8 Championship. This initiative, created by Boateng to promote emerging talents from his hometown of Koftown, aims not only to celebrate the sport but also to pave the way for the next Olympic champion in table tennis.

Boateng expressed his commitment to honouring his older brother, Isaac Opoku, who made history as the first male player to qualify Ghana for the Olympics in table tennis. This event aligns with Isaac’s birthday celebration in September, making it a fitting tribute.

With hopes for strong collaboration among stakeholders, Nana Yaw believes that this championship will enhance the prospects of the Black Loopers and lead to greater achievements in future Olympic competitions.

The justification to participate in this prestigious championship begins today, September 4, 2025, at the New Juaben Community Centre.
