I would like to share the story of Emmanuel Obiri Minta, also known as C-blue, with you. Emmanuel hails from Koforidua, the heart of Ghana’s table tennis scene, where legends like Isaac Opoku (Asawa), Nana Yaw Boateng, Hagar Amo, and Nana Osei Boateng have made their mark.

Despite facing challenges, Emmanuel has made significant contributions to the table tennis community. He is currently the organizer for the New Juaben Table Tennis Club and has successfully hosted various championships, including the Asawa National Open, Afrinto Champion, MP’s Tournament, and Muba National Open.

Emmanuel, a civil servant by profession, is a dedicated sports enthusiast with a focus on table tennis. He began his table tennis career in Koforidua’s Fishing Corporation, a community that has produced national table tennis players. In 2004, he was invited by Ghana’s Ping-pong Legendary Nana Yaw Boateng to join the renowned New Juaben Table Tennis Club.

Despite facing physical challenges, Emmanuel has achieved remarkable success. He represented the Eastern Star team during the ATL league under Coach Owusu Ansah and won medals at the district and regional levels.

He also represented the region at the regional games, where he and Samuel Akayade of the Black Loopers secured medals for the region. Emmanuel’s achievements extend to the national and international levels, including the Ghana Polytechnic Games and the West Africa Polytechnic Games.

After retiring from active table tennis, Emmanuel was encouraged by Nana Yaw Boateng to pursue media work for the New Juaben Table Tennis Club. He embarked on this new path by conducting radio interviews and providing commentary for local and national radio and television sports shows, including GTV Sports Plus and Metro Sports.

His dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed. Emmanuel has received recognition and honors from individuals and corporate bodies, including a special acknowledgment from the Omanhene of New Juaben traditional area, Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III, for his unwavering commitment to table tennis and sports development.

Emmanuel’s story is truly inspiring, and his contributions to the sports community have left a lasting impact.
